Why this panel
A single iron reading moves with the day and rarely tells the whole story. This panel reads the full iron picture together: ferritin reflects your iron stores, while transferrin, transferrin saturation and total iron binding capacity describe how iron is being carried around the body. Around them it checks the nutrients most often behind low energy in the UK, vitamin B12, folate, vitamin D and magnesium. Where your data suggests a marker is outside its optimal range, the report says so plainly and points you to the next sensible step rather than a shopping list.
What you actually get
Every marker comes back with your value, the optimal range from the published research, and a line on what it means for you. Then a qualified clinician reads the whole set before it reaches you.
The lab reference range is drawn wide, across the whole population, to catch disease. The optimal range is narrower, drawn from published research on healthy adults. Sitting outside either is a prompt to look closer, never proof on its own that something is medically wrong.

What this panel measures
9 markers, each measured from a single finger-prick you take at home and read against optimal ranges from the published research, then checked by a qualified clinician.

Clinician review
Your markers are checked together before your results reach you, never one at a time in isolation. Where something sits outside its optimal range, the report says what that usually means and when a GP conversation is the sensible next step.
Where every pound goes
No add-ons at the till, no surprise fees. Here is exactly what your Vitamins & Minerals test pays for.
What is included
You collect the sample yourself with a simple finger-prick, and we show you exactly how. That is the only step we ask of you, and it is what keeps the price this honest.

How it arrives
The kit lands in a slim box: a lancet, a small sample vial, a wipe and a card that walks you through it. A few drops, back in the prepaid post, and your reading comes to you in about 5 working days from when the lab receives your sample.

Honest limits
Worth knowing before you pay, not after.
Iron moves through the day and jumps after an iron supplement. Take a morning sample and leave that day's supplement off, or the reading will not reflect your usual level.
This is not a full anaemia screen. That also needs a full blood count and a clinical judgement, so the report shows how your iron and vitamin markers sit rather than reaching a diagnosis.
Ferritin rises with inflammation as well as with iron stores, so one high reading is not the full story. The report reads it alongside your other iron markers.
This is a wellness service. It is not intended to diagnose, prevent, monitor or treat any medical condition.
Questions and answers
The Vitamins & Minerals panel measures nine markers: a full iron workup (iron, ferritin, transferrin, transferrin saturation and total iron binding capacity) read alongside vitamin B12, folate, vitamin D and magnesium. Together they show whether the nutrients behind everyday energy are well stocked and how iron is being stored and carried.
A single iron reading moves through the day and can mislead on its own. Ferritin reflects how much iron your body has in store, while transferrin, transferrin saturation and total iron binding capacity describe how iron is being transported. Reading them together gives a fuller picture of your iron status than any one number, which is why the panel measures all five.
No single panel diagnoses anaemia. This test measures your iron markers plus B12 and folate, which are part of the picture, but a full anaemia screen also needs a full blood count, and diagnosis is a clinical judgement. If your data suggests a marker is outside its optimal range, the report says so plainly and suggests discussing it with a qualified clinician rather than reaching a conclusion for you.
Iron readings are most consistent from a morning sample, ideally before taking any iron supplement that day, so leave iron supplements off on the morning of your test. A strict overnight fast is not required for these markers. Water is always fine, and note the timing when you register your sample so the report can read your values in context.
General Energy & Wellness is a broad baseline covering thyroid, cortisol, inflammation and a cholesterol panel, and it includes vitamin B12, vitamin D and magnesium. It does not carry the iron markers. The Vitamins & Minerals panel is built around a full iron workup and adds folate, so choose it when your focus is iron status and the core nutrients behind low energy specifically.
